Visually enlarge the living room: it is possible!

(Yes, even if you don't have 50 square meters or palace ceilings 😌)
Hello, hello! Today I come with one of those little tricks that seems like magic, but actually makes all the sense in the world: make your living room look bigger... with big furniture!

Surprised? I get it. We've always been told that “if you have a small living room, put in small furniture.” But no. Wrong. Fake news of interior design.

The “miniature” effect that nobody told you about

When we fill the living room with tiny furniture (those tables with a stool complex or sofas that look like toys), what we get is not more space, but more visual noise. And that noise... shrinks. To the eye and to the sensation.
On the other hand, when you use large, well-chosen pieces with clean lines, the space feels wider, more open, more “breathable”. The trick is not to overload it and to think big (like you and your decorating dreams!).

Lo que SÍ ayuda a que tu salón parezca más grande

Light tones: beige, off-white, greige, sand... Colors that reflect light and relax the soul.

Clear windows: let the sun, life, and vitamin D in. No heavy curtains that take away light.

💡 Layered lighting: add floor lamps, table lamps or sconces. Good lighting at different points avoids harsh shadows and makes everything look wider.

📐 Low furniture: the lower the back of the sofa, the more air the view breathes. The same with shelves, sideboards and tables.

🪑 Few pieces, but with intention: visual order is gold. Less is more, but let that “less” be one of those that add up.

🧹 Order, order, order: a chaotic living room will always seem smaller. Boxes, baskets, furniture with hidden storage... everything has its place!

 What about the floors?

Be careful with this: very narrow wooden planks or small tiles do the same as mini furniture: they visually shrink the space. If you are in the middle of a renovation or change of flooring, go for wide planks and large formats, it is very noticeable!

Okay, and this is only for small rooms?

Not at all! All this applies whether your living room is 25m², smaller or larger. Because what we are looking for is not only spaciousness, but visual harmony, lightness and fluidity. We want you to enter your home and be embraced by calm.
